The Organisation

Airservices is a government owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry.

Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers, and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace.
Airservices has two major operating centres in Melbourne and Brisbane and a corporate office in Canberra. We operate 29 air traffic control towers at international and regional airports, and provide aviation rescue fire fighting services at 26 Australian airports.

The Role

In the Project Management role you will be responsible for the coordination and management of inputs into the design, development, deployment, installation, test and acceptance of the new OneSKY Civil Military Air Traffic System (CMATS).

This role has a focus on coordinating and managing the Airservices contribution to the CMATS Program, however in the spirit of a joint Program the role will often be required to support and contribute to broader program activities.

This opportunity is offered on as a 2 year fixed term (full time) contract.

The Person

In addition to your Project Management experience you will have strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective co-ordination of all activities in support of organisational objectives.

You will have experience in the oversight and management of project budgets and performance targets, as relevant to the position specific accountabilities and responsibilities, including the promotion of an efficient and cost-conscious culture within the CMATS Program.

This role would suit an enthusiastic person who can manage ambiguity and who has a background in Project coordination and is looking to develop their career in Project Management.

Skills and Experience

  • Project management qualifications, with supporting experience.
  • Diversity of experience across the Civil and Defence sectors is desirable.
  • Sound judgement and business acumen, with a focus on results in a service delivery environment.
  • Ability to drive, deliver and sustain transformation to achieve objectives in a complex environment.
  • Values-based leadership, and ability to build organisational capability and culture.
  • Ability to develop and present innovative solutions and influence outcomes.
