Town Planning Policy Officer. 

This is an immediate start contract for 3 months initially with a view to extend, working with a large state government department.

$65 per hour + super - CBD location. 

Your duties will include:

• Responding to phone calls and emails about exempt and complying development policy.
• Provide advice to external stakeholders in relation to exempt and complying development under the NSW planning system.
• Provide advice and support on policies and procedures and undertake components of project activities.
• Assist in the preparation of high quality written advice in the form of correspondence, reports, briefs, policy, discussion papers or circulars to inform or respond to requests.
• Liaise with key stakeholders to communicate their position, objectives, and priorities.

You will be required to have:

• Experience in town planning or in a related area.
• Require a good understanding of the NSW planning system and planning legislation and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in town planning.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
