Lead the design, development and adoption of the SMES application and related data and services through consultation with users and liaison with Systems Branch BA's and relevant developers, ensuring new features, enhancements and resolutions are designed, developed and implemented in accordance with business requirements, corporate IT policy and agreed release schedules. You will provide technical support to a specialised area through custom software development, scripting, database queries, data analysis and GNSS and other high-precision surveys. As required, you will initiate and undertake research, analysis, evaluation of alternatives, problem resolution and provide expertise and advice to support the Geodesy Section's strategic programmes, industry and whole of government projects.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable skills and experience in business requirements analysis and communication, programming and scripting (e.g. C++, Java, Perl, Python, Javascript, etc.), database and SQL technologies; have specialist expertise in GNSS analysis, reference frame geodesy, coordinate transformations and conversions, survey measurement and uncertainty.
This position requires a Bachelor Degree or higher in Geomatics, Surveying, Geodesy or equivalent.
A dual Geomatics/IT qualification would be extremely advantageous.
