The opportunity
 
We have a newly-created role for an innovative and inclusive leader to bring fresh thinking to our team and improved service to our customers.  The Job Evaluation Specialist is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on job evaluation and provides expert advice and support on job evaluation and market value of roles.
  
This role will own all job evaluation and provide expert advice, support and training to Talent Team, People Partners and managers on evaluation methodologies and writing of role descriptions to ensure consistency and compliance with standards and policy. This role will undertake research and analysis into market value of roles and recommend when required revaluing of roles to ensure the Transport Cluster remains competitive in attracting required talent.
 
You will be able to make your mark in a newly-forming function by evaluating all new and existing roles descriptions using a using a point factor method (Mercer) to ensure an equitable and consistent evaluation process. You’ll quickly become recognised as our subject matter expert by team members, talent specialists, executive leaders and hiring managers.

You’ll enjoy change and see new ways of doing things, you should challenge convention to build and improve on existing practice.  You’ll get a spring in your step from delivering outcomes for clients (and spare them the complexity of how you got there.
 
A commitment to quality and ability to do the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture is important.   You’ll be resilient, energetic, committed to getting it right but without losing your perspective and humour.  Previous Talent Acquisition experience and writing of role descriptions using a point factor method (Mercer) would be highly regarded. It would be highly regarded if you have either engineering, digital or infrastructure recruitment experience.
