This role will work for Science Division, which sits within the Office of Environment and Heritage. Science Division provides scientific evidence and knowledge to underpin environmental decision making, regulation and service delivery.

 

About the Role:
The Assistant Scientist is responsible for the delivery of projects within the Contaminants and Risk unit, by providing scientific/technical skills and analysis. Typical projects in the team include providing critical comment and advice on contaminated site investigation reports and environmental risk assessments. Other work includes assisting NSW EPA in policy development for contaminants.

 

Essential requirements:
• Scientific qualifications and knowledge of ecology and ecological science.
• Ability to assist in the delivery of rigorous science projects in ecology and assist with ecological field surveys.
• Ability to work in collaboration with research partners to deliver customer focused results from science projects.

 

To be successful in the role, ideally you will have:
• Experience in either ecological or human health risk assessment.
