Take your next step in 2018 with a highly regarded, trendsetting Youth Service. Mosman Council is looking for a Youth Programs Officer who has a focus on empowering young people using initiatives that build their skills, voice and purpose.
Reporting to the Youth Development Officer, the Youth Programs Officer will be responsible for programming services including innovative volunteering programs based on local consultation and best practice in youth engagement. Management, operation and promotion of daily activities at the Youth Development Centre will also be an important component of this role.
2018 will see the development of the Youth Centre as a hub for young entrepreneurs, and the Youth Programs Officer will be central to developing and sustaining this project. You will be someone with a strong interest in the social innovation space, and will be supporting exceptional young entrepreneurs and change makers to develop their ideas. You will be a leader in online engagement with young people, and utilising social media to achieve community development outcomes.
You will be someone who enjoys enhancing existing initiatives and is looking for an opportunity to introduce new ideas to this high performing team. You’ll be a team player, flexible and solutions-focused and able to work autonomously. The ideal candidate will be connected with relevant networks and have an excellent knowledge of what’s important to young people, how to connect with them and how best to meet their needs.
