The Embassy of United Arab Emirates in Canberra promotes the strategic political and economic interests of the UAE through effective diplomacy to support security, stability and sustainable development, and deliver excellence in services and care for UAE citizens abroad.

We are currently seeking  the Service of a talented, highly motivated Political Researcher with demonstrated significant academic achievements, intellectual curiosity and an interest in political and financial services sector. 

The successful applicant must also speak, read and write fluent Arabic and English, and able to perform the following responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze information. Follow-up on news, political events, and statements about the UAE or on issues of interest to the UAE made by officials in the host country. Prepare daily, weekly and periodic reports
• Communicate with policy think tank and research centers. Follow-up researches on UAE , Arab  World and international political issues.
• Analyze trends and policies of decision maker, political parties, trade unions and the positions of non-governmental organizations in the host country
• Prepare executive summaries, briefings, and reports on meetings, visits and political events of Mission and submit them to the line Manager
• Prepare transparent researches and reports about the current events, their developments and possible scenarios on the political scene of the host country in particular and the most important regional and global developments in general
• Contribute effectively in organizing, participating and attending political events organized and attended by the Mission.
• Prepare reports and minutes of meetings and follow-up the directives and recommendations of the line manager
• Track implementation of decisions of the joint committees between the UAE and the host country, bilateral agreements and treaties signed between the two sides, and humanitarian aid provided by the Mission in the host country
• Develop and update effective database on authorities, political forces, and influential persons in the host country and contribute to establishing partnerships, alliances and channels of communication to support political relations with the UAE
• Participate in welcoming and bidding farewell to guests, delegations and officials of the UAE and accompany them to attend conferences and meetings as directed by the Line Manager
• Contribute to updating the Mission's website with news, reports and political activities and events held by the UAE and the Mission.
• Provide recommendations and policy proposals that contribute to developing and maintaining clear policy positions in support of the bilateral relations of the UAE and the host country to achieve consensus and convergence of views on the current policies of the host country
• Follow up and update the bilateral relations profile
• Provide information and research on media coverage
• Monitor political activities in Australia
• Follow up the UAE participation in political conference
• Follow up and highlight current issues being discussed in Australia
• Attend and follow up political and social activities
• Provide support to UAE institutions interested in entering the Australian market
• Provide available support to UAE companies participating in the economic activities in the hosting country
• Provide possible assistance to institutions and individuals wishing to invest in the UAE
• Prepare studies on the negative impacts influencing the UAE economy

• Follow up and highlight political issues being discussed in Australia
