North Burnett Regional Council is seeking a Technical Officer to join our Asset Services Section. This position will assist in delivery of traditional local government asset management services including but not limited to; operation of the Asset Management System (Assetic), maintenance of asset registers, long term planning including revision of asset management plans as necessary, revaluation of Council assets as required by statutory requirements, GIS and rural addressing, to meet organisational and business objectives.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
- Demonstrated numeracy, written and verbal communication skills including ability to provide advice in relevant discipline and discuss techniques, procedures and / or results with clients and to understand job specific plans and documentation
- Sound knowledge of Council’s standard work practices, procedures and policies, the underlying discipline principles, and statutory requirements relevant to the Section (i.e. GIS, quality assurance techniques, GPS, Asset Management Practices, Work Health and Safety legislation, etc.)
- Current unrestricted manual ‘C’ Class drivers licence
- Strong attention to detail and perform work with a high level of accuracy
Experience within Local Government, relevant qualifications and/ or experience within a similar setting is highly desirable. Training and development to gain specific knowledge and skills relevant to this position will be supported.
