Let’s talk about the role:

The Lead Electronics Engineer will operate within the project team and will be responsible to meet architecture and interface requirements whilst designing, developing, prototyping, and verifying new products from concept through to production.

You will provide advise regarding engineering strategy and be actively involved with developing and improving electrical processes and tools used. You will also act as a leader by mentoring and guiding less senior team members and colleagues.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrable experience in performing the following responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, prototype, and test of the required subsystem and its interface to the system
  • Mature approach to design with due consideration to requirements relating to marketing needs, the needs of our patients and customers, human factors/useability, patient therapy performance requirements, environmental factors and design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy whilst interacting effectively with, and seeking input from team members and other areas of the business including cross functional teams to ensure the products being developed are appropriate and satisfy all necessary requirements
  • Actively identify, develop and promote systems and tools which would be adopted by the wider electrical design team.
  • Research, design and development of products for manufacture
  • Testing, verification and validation of designed products to ensure they meet the necessary requirements and specifications under anticipated usage scenarios and operating conditions.
  • Develop test/measurement capabilities according to need
  • Liaise with internal customers and suppliers in relation to design architecture, interfaces and issues
  • Effectively mentor less senior engineers and take responsibility for driving the decision making process to support project deliverables
  • Assist in the preparation and review of system documentation including System Specifications, Risk Analyses, Regulatory Submissions etc.
  • Write critical verification and investigation reports to a high level of detail.
  • Interface with other project stakeholders to ensure that the system objectives are balanced with overall project objectives
  • Maintain technical skills and awareness of technical improvements, advise management team of new technological advances.

To get us really excited, you will have a Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with at least 10 years of technical expertise in the field. You have been extremely involved in a ground-up product development which means that you already have the experience of designing a product from its basic component level up to the development and manufacturing.

Candidates from medical, consumer IT, defence technology, automotive, electronics or other highly regulated industry will be given preference.
