About the role

You will be accountable for the investigation, planning, project management, delivery, monitoring and review of assigned environmental engineering projects and initiatives.

  • You will collaborate with the Group’s infrastructure teams through project development, design, implementation, operations and maintenance phases providing expert advice and guidance on environmental issues impacted by projects and activities so as to deliver sustainable outcomes for road, transport and stormwater related infrastructure.
    You will contribute to the development and review of relevant infrastructure policies, strategies and asset management plans ensuring consideration of environmental management issues.

Your outcomes will address the social, environmental, economic and governance objectives of Council’s Community Strategic Plan. You will devise and manage your delivery program to ensure project delivery within planned budgets and timelines.

Your work and activities and contributions to the team will meet targets and commitments established in individual or team work plans and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans.

You will participate in, contribute to, and/or lead, Project Control Groups to provide solutions which meet project objectives and ensure successful project outcomes. You will facilitate collaboration across Council in solving problems and developing solutions.

Salary

$88,980 - $99,658 p.a. + super

Access to Civil Liabilities allowance subject to eligibility as per the Award.

Key Duties
  •  Contributing to the development and review of; catchment and management plans, flood & urban water management strategies.

  •  Applying research and assisting with implementation of new technologies and techniques to improve sustainability outcomes for municipal works and services

  •  Achieve project & program delivery goals (encompassing quality, time, cost, creativity, governance, environmental, safety, community & stakeholder expectations)
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
  1. Tertiary qualifications in environmental engineering or other appropriate discipline recognised by relevant Australian professional institute.
  2. Comprehensive experience in the creation of ‘best practice’ infrastructure environmental solutions to contemporary industry standards with the capacity for innovative thinking.
  3. Project management, consultant management and contract administration skills successfully utilised in delivering infrastructure services.
  4. Competency in the use of computer aided design and modelling packages including AutoCAD, DRAINS, MUSIC and GIS Mapping systems.
