The Role
Every year, SMEC invites the brightest and most passionate third and penultimate year Civil Engineering students to complete their industrial work placement with us.
This paid internship opportunity is perfect for an undergraduate who is interested in seeing how their academic knowledge translates into real world engineering and who has a passion for creating a better world around them.
Interns are mentored by highly skilled and world respected engineers, as well as supported by graduate peers who have come through a similar pathway to a career in engineering.
This is a great opportunity to earn and learn whilst building lasting friendships, professional relationships and networks.
Our summer interns work full time for 12 weeks from 26th November 2018 to 8th February 2019.
To be considered for this position, you will be:
- Available for the full 12 weeks (except the two weeks of Christmas and New Year)
- In your third or penultimate year of undergraduate study in Civil Engineering at an Australian university
- Able to display a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence
- Able to display excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Committed to making the best of your time at SMEC to kick start your engineering career
