The Lead PMO Australia is responsible for establishing and running the Project Management Office for our SEA 1180 Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) Project with the objective of ensuring all vessels delivered within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Organize the PMO in such a way as to provide the most efficient use of the Project Director and Project Managers focusing on the on-time delivery of the project backlog while meeting customer expectations
• Coach project staff in such a way as to help them be more efficient with their time, control their customer expectations, implement change order and claim management strategies, report accurately on the progress/forecast and manage risks
• Ensure that all project schedules are managed and maintained in one tool, from which accurate reports can be generated. Use these reports to reflect and predict resource loading requirements based on skill need
• Overall responsibility for CDR & review management (document management), Facility Security and organize IT-security
• Contract management for customer and supplier contracts incl. customer communication and overall risk-management
• Effectively communicate and manage expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. This includes German counterparts
• Report on the overall status of all projects on a monthly basis
• Emphasise changes being made to improve the progress and get the projects back on track
• Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management. Transfer lean principles into project organization

Profile:

• Tertiary Qualifications required in engineering or science discipline (PhD level preferable).
• Several years’ experience in shipbuilding and Project Management.
• Experience working as a Senior Manager/PMO Manager having managed teams or manager level employees.
• Experience with setting up complex working process covering different locations.
• Proficient Microsoft Office products to include advance Excel and Projects skills.
• Advanced working knowledge of the PS-System.
• Ability to understand technical drawings in German and translate into English (as required).
• Experience with managing external customer relations and expectations

Additional information

• Primary location is Perth/Australia, national and international travel might be required
• Security clearance required or must be able to obtain.
