The role                                                             

With the recent announcement by the project partners that the Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain (HESC) project will be progressing into the next phases of implementation, GHD are looking to recruit a full-time Project Manager, preferably to its Traralgon office.


Our Traralgon office is in a prime location, conveniently located only a short walk from the Traralgon Train Station. The office is a tight-knit team and you will get exposure to various areas of the business. GHD’s core purpose is to create lasting community benefit with our clients, and our people are the key to this success.


The HESC Project Manager will be responsible for all functions of EPCM for project delivery. Support by GHDs Plant and Process team the Project Manager will be responsible for the financial and technical success of the HESC Project.

The Project Manager’s function is to create and maintain an attitude of leadership towards the project team. This includes, but not limited to


  • Identifying Project requirements and establishing clear and achievable objectives
  • Balancing the competing demands of quality, scope, time and cost
  • Adapting the specifications, plans, and approach to the different concerns and expectations of the various stakeholders
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the client, stakeholders and individuals for the successful delivery of the project
Could this be you?
  • University degree in Engineering or other relevant discipline and at least 15 years’ experience in the management of EPCM-type projects which ideally includes 10 years of experience with gas processing or coal handling plants with involvement in at least one significant project
  • Demonstrated safety leadership
  • Ability to function well in a team environment
  • Coordination, organisation and planning of Industrial Relations
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing at least one project executed under an Australian federal or state government funding agreement
  • Proven record in leadership, management and project controls processes
  • Proven record with managing projects where engineering design and supply is being completed by overseas contractors
  • Highly developed knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction management along with other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies.  Broad knowledge of industry standards.
  • Proven background of resourcefulness under pressure with the ability to operate independently or in a team environment
  • Track record in leadership, engineering management, construction management and successful delivery of multi-disciplined projects through to operational hand-over
  • Highly developed written and oral communication / negotiation skills combined with a keen focus on client service as well as internal and external working relationships and networking skills
