Naval Group Australia has one singular focus - to design and build 12 state-of-the-art submarines for our country.
As we continue this undertaking, we are now looking for a Structural Engineering Deputy Leader to live and work in France for a 3-5 year period. You will be part of a significant transfer of technology by Naval Group Australia and form part of our design authority team.
As a Structural Engineering Deputy Leader, you will be responsible for design studies, R&D studies and technical-economic offers across the submarine structures including Pressure Hull Structure and Non-Resistant Structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee the “buildability” of the structures, in relation with the shipyard
- Ensure compliance with the Technical Standards
- Manage system performance levels by defining technical solutions, proposing specific technology choices and specifying the tests to be conducted
- Conduct research and development studies in your areas of competency
- Assist the Structural Engineering Leader in managing the other sub-system leaders, study/test managers conducting tasks under their responsibility
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Post graduate studies in Marine Engineering ideal
- 10 years of experience in Mechanical/Structural Engineering
- Knowledge of submarine platforms
You will bring to this role industrial environment experience in the field of naval shipbuilding and have knowledge of finite elements tools (production of finite element CAD model, calculation) such as NX.
The successful applicant must be eligible for an Australian defence security clearance; where by Australian citizenship is required.
