Your Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced System Engineer – Packing to join the Production team in our Wahgunyah Factory.  

Reporting to the Production Manager – Cereals you will play an integral role in the operations packaging systems to assure food safety, quality and reliability while controlling overall costs.  This position must work closely with cross functional teams to successfully deliver projects related to new product/packaging development and optimization.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Identify & drive cost saving improvement projects through the optimization of primary & secondary packaging to equipment design

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to support continuous improvement programs through understanding of packaging material and machine interface opportunities

  • Manage projects through planning, organizing and coordination to ensure completion to required standard & timeline

  • Act as a subject matter expert on equipment/material for packaging lines so as to provide technical expertise for solving packaging related issues.

  • Contribute to development of objectives, standard operating procedures and policies

  • Provide technical coaching & guidance to operational personnel

About You 

To be successful in the role you will have 3+ years of engineering/continuous improvement experience in a FMCG environment, with tertiary qualification in Engineering desirable. Equally important is your ability to demonstrate strong problem solving capability, supported by the ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions for continuous improvement within the factory. Experience working in a packaging related role will be highly regarded.

Strong communication & influencing skills together with a can do attitude are key to your success. You will need to be a strong relationship builder in order to provide professional and technical support to the site and achieve results. You will be analytical, a problem solver and have an improvement mindset with the ability to respectfully challenge the status quo.
