Our client is a Global consultancy firm specialising in mechanical, maritime, water and environmental engineering and hydraulics. They are one of Australia’s most largest and experienced environmental consultants. With over 30 years experience, they offer resources and expertise in environmental consulting which is incomparable. The company's team of highly qualified engineers, biologists and scientists have expert knowledge of all aspects of environmental consulting and are committed to using their skills and experience to the benefit of clients, communities and the environment.

Due to the growth of the business, an exciting opportunity has become available for someone who is passionate, innovative and a natural leader to cover the NSW and Newcastle region. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to use their technical knowledge and skills to lead and mentor a team of Scientists and Engineers.

The applicant will be responsible for:

  • Giving technical advice to management and business units on the use of equipment or materials.
  • Lead, supervise and mentor a team of other consultants.
  • Adheres to, and actively promotes, quality, safety and environmental procedures and standards.
  • Liaises with clients, potential and current, for the purposes of work generation, service delivery, networking and business development.
  • Prepare, review and submit proposals and tenders.
  • Project manage a range of projects to scope and within time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Contributing to leadership activities by regularly authoring papers, presenting at events, seminars and conferences, and social media posts.
  • Maintains Chartered Status and Registration of an appropriate and recognised professional body.

The applicant will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or other relevant area of study.
  • More than 15 years experience post-graduation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical background in environmental consulting.
  • Existing client network in the environmental policy, monitoring, assessment and approvals.
  • Demonstrated business development skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
  • Experience working within the engineering or resources sector.
  • Post-graduate qualifications in environmental management or other relevant area of study.
