Pempek Systems is a progressive designer and manufacturer of control systems for industrial equipment. 

Headquartered in north-western Sydney, the company is looking for an  experienced mechanical design engineer to join the Product Development Team for an immediate start.  This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Castle Hill, NSW.

Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: $66,000 per annum + 9.5 % Superannuation

Duties:

• Design and development of mechanical parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies for Pempek Systems Control System Products using standard 3D CAD software.
   
• Development of manufacturing documentation to support efficient and reliable production of product designs (i.e. assembly instructions, wiring plans, test procedures)
   
• Development of quality control (QC) checklists and inspection procedures for parts and assemblies.
   
• Conduct design studies and/or design qualification of parts and assemblies in order to verify conformance with pre-agreed specifications for reliability, functionality and performance.
   
• On-going support and improvement of designed parts and assemblies in order to resolve design problems in the field, reduce cost, improve performance or enhance reliability.
   
• Management of all engineering documentation for each design (3D models, manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, QC checklists ect) in the company revision control system (“VAULT”).

Qualifications / Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline (such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics or systems engineering)
   
• Highly developed skills and work experience with standard 3D CAD software (Solid Works)
   
• Ability to create and maintain 3D part and assembly models in 3D CAD software.
   
• Well-developed understanding of manufacturing and mechanical design drawings and documentation.
   
• Working knowledge of mechanical part manufacturing technology and how to design mechanical parts to suit standard manufacturing techniques.
   
• Strong analytical ability and engineering problem solving skills.
   
• Reading comprehension skills are strongly developed.
   
• High standard of written and verbal communication.
   
• Good general computing skills and experience (MRP/ERP, Word Processing, Spread Sheet, etc)
   
• Well organised.
   
• Professional and courteous attitude when dealing with co-workers
