Our Organisation

Melbourne Water is a significant business. We manage water supply catchments, sewage, along with rivers, creeks and major drainage systems. This role within the Catchments Land and Waterways Services Team will provide you with the opportunity to make a difference and contribute to a positive work environment; one where people can learn and perform to their full potential and are committed to our vision of enhancing life and liveability.

The Role

As the Asset Practitioner-Land you will apply best practice asset management in developing integrated 3-5 year rolling investment programs to support the delivery of Melbourne Water’s core services. You will alo be responsible to maximise Melbourne Water’s land portfolio for our customers and the broader community.

We aim to make roles flexible, and whilst roles are advertised as fulltime we will consider requests for flexible work arrangements, including part time and job share.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Coordination, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges within tight timeframes and work unsupervised.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders and to prepare and deliver information to an audience in a professional manner.
  • Experience in land and natural resource management.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills which adds value to business and customers.
  • Experience in supporting a healthy, safe and supportive work environment.

    Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a qualification in Ecology/Biological Sciences/Natural Resource Management, engineering or related technical discipline. A commitment to self-awareness, self-reflection and ongoing personal development is also important.
