About the business and the role
Engineered Energy Solutions Pty Ltd (“EES”), a subsidiary of Nulux Energy (www.nulux.com.au), is an entrepreneurial Australian business focusing on technology to make Australia’s energy more efficient, cheaper and more reliable. EES has a focus on transferring and adapting technology from offshore for the Australian market, particularly from Israel where much of the world’s leading edge development is taking place.
Parent company Nulux Energy is the Australian importer and distributor for PowerSines, one of the world’s leading energy efficiency technology companies based in Israel. Nulux has projects underway for adapting and upsizing this technology for the Australian market and the global mining industry. Nulux is also evaluating and trialling a number of other energy related technologies from Israel which, to be successful at large scale, will require manufacturing and assembly facilities in Australia. Nulux also promotes and support Australian innovation, investing in the development and commercialisation of energy-related technologies invented here, for example its recent investment in EcoJoule Energy.
EES, the manufacturing arm of Nulux, currently designs and manufactures electrical switching and control systems in our Illawarra engineering and manufacturing centre. The Nulux group plans to substantial expand its manufacturing capabilities in EES including manufacturing Israeli-sourced technology here in Australia.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Analysing the requirements for manufacturing facilities for electrical, electronic and power electronic products.
Designing, implementing and optimising manufacturing processes.
Identifying and evaluating new energy efficiency technologies emerging in other markets, particularly Israel, to assess the feasibility of manufacture in Australia.
As part of a multidisciplinary team complete technical evaluation of partners, products and manufacturing processes.
Skills and Experience
We are seeking an experienced industrial engineer with specific skills to join our growing team.
Applicants must possess:
- Degree level qualifications in Industrial Engineering from a recognised university and at least five years of work experience
- An understanding of the Israeli Energy technology sector and its startup pipeline
- Fluent spoken and written Hebrew and English
- Proven commercial as well as technical skills
- Experience supervising contractors and skilled workers
- An understanding of factory infrastructure and leading factory design packages
- At least two years experience as an industrial engineer with experience in project management and large-scale project integration
- Experience in factory design and integration
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams (including software, electrical, electronic and mechanical specialties)
- Willingness to relocate for short to medium term periods to our Illawarra or Brisbane facilities or to project sites
In addition, the following qualifications would be highly regarded:
- Formal tertiary qualifications in management
- Experience in financial and technical due diligence and investment analysis
