ABOUT THE COMPANY.
This Local Council based in the Western Sydney Region has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Roads Design Engineer to join their team of 10 consisting of senior and junior Civil Engineers. Start on an initial 4 month contact with a potential for either contract extension or permanency.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, preparing documentation, and providing estimations. You will be responsible for undertaking the design of Council's infrastructure and assets which include buildings, footpaths, kerb and gutter, bicycle paths and roads. You will also provide technical advice to key stakeholders and interpret and resolve issues that may arise within projects.
DUTIES.
- Site investigations and visits
- Interpret reports and rectify design issues
- Prepare technical reports and tender documentation
- Preparation of designs and drawings for road projects
- Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering (or related)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical skills and a solutions-driven mentality
- Experience working with CivilCAD, 12D and DRAINS
- Previous experience within the Public Sector is highly advantageous
