Position
Working from our National office based in Glebe, you will be reporting to our Senior Design Engineer. You will be required to use your AutoCAD skills to draft technical and construction drawings for our many solar development projects. Our project work activity is highly technical with multidisciplinary collaboration across our engineering, sales and project management teams.
Our team members are dynamic, engaged and are amongst the industry leaders in the areas of solar power project design and electrical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Produce high quality AutoCAD designs and diagrams (PV layout drawings, mount drawings and electrical schematics) according to given project specifications
- Check and revise drawings to incorporate changes and improvements during the design, installation and post-installation phases
- Collaborate internally with designers, engineers and sales engineers as well as externally with construction and installation engineers
- Maintain the project drawings and design database
- Manage and update all AutoCAD templates, tool palettes and dynamic blocks
- Research new and actively improve drafting tools and templates
- Assist Engineering department with the preparation of technical tenders
- Administrate and maintain AutoCAD software and licences as well as any plugins and updates
- Occasionally assist in the preparation of technical documentation for projects for example Reports, Calculations, Costs and Bill of Materials
Position Requirements
- Must have prior drafting experience
- You must be an enthusiastic and self-motivated team member with a high-level of organisational skills in order to work independently and meet project deadlines
- Technical education preferably in Design, Solar PV or Electrical Engineering
- Extensive experience with AutoCAD
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail
