THE PROJECT
Nexus Delivery is a joint venture between Acciona and Ferrovial Agroman, established to design and construct the TSRC. The $1.6 billion Toowoomba Second Range Crossing is a 41km heavy vehicle route jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments on an 80:20 funding split arrangement.
The route is designed to increase freight efficiency and significantly improve driver safety and community amenity by removing heavy vehicles from Toowoomba’s CBD.
THE ROLE
Nexus Delivery is currently seeking experienced Structures and Earthworks Site Engineers to join our team on short term contracts. Reporting to the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the management and effective delivery of your work area. The duties of this position will include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and review relevant project documentation including:
- Safe Work Method Statements;
- Quality inspections and test plans; and
- Provide advice and comments in regard to improved build ability.
- Issue non-compliance reports, agree on remedial actions and verify the completion with relevant subcontractors.
- Consistently deliver engineering and technical activities, as required.
- Ensure that all hold and witness point locations issued for approval are to TMR specifications.
- Manage short term programming and implementation.
- Deliver site infrastructure needs including temporary works and infrastructure.
- Work with site supervisors to achieve the best project outcomes.
- Notify and work with the Traffic and Community Relations Teams to ensure all required traffic control measures are implemented in a timely matter.
LOCATION
Please note that this position is based in Toowoomba.
THE PERSON
- Minimum 2 - 3 years’ industry experience is required on large scale construction projects including large scale highways is essential;
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent;
- Experience working with Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) specifications;
- Demonstrated experience with cost control, forecasting and quality control; and
- Commitment to fostering the safety culture on site towards safety and a zero-harm attitude towards safety.
