Your new role
This role is considered a leadership position within Water and Waste's Network Reliability Branch. Reporting to the Branch Manager Network Reliability, the position will undertake a range of duties relating to the tactical asset management of the water and sewerage pipe network, including condition assessment, renewals planning, service conflict management and coordination of minor civil projects.

  • Develop key relationships within the business to ensure a strong link between long-term strategic assessment management, medium-term tactical asset management, and short-term programmed maintenance activities
  • Develop and implement 1-5 year tactical asset management strategies for the water and sewerage pipe network, including condition assessment and renewal programmes
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise in the scoping and delivery of minor civil works
  • Manage the asset conflicts team, including the development of productive relationships with Council’s Transport and Infrastructure department and third party utilities
  • Drive appropriate programmed maintenance activities across the various civil asset classes
  • Ensure operational and capital projects are completed to a high standard and add value to the business
  • Undertake KPI reporting, strategy documentation, financial projections, project management documentation and capital expenditure forecasts
  • Commitment to the achievement of zero harm to staff and the community



What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will be a person who can lead and develop effective teams and influence workplace culture, as well as developing effective relationships with business partners. You will have strong water and sewer experience in an asset management context, and enjoy working on medium term asset strategies. You will have experience in managing a programme of minor projects and/or have exposure to an field based operational environment.
