As a User Experience Researcher, you will have the opportunity to support our client's research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. We are looking for professionals who have excellent communication skills, are diligent, detail-oriented, and can work fairly independently.

You will be involved in researching user needs and human performance in the complex environment of vehicles and helping define the implications for Google Maps, Android Auto and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Work with designers, product managers, engineers, and research managers to act upon research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Observing and running usability testing sessions and interviews, or taking notes during sessions.
• Administering questionnaires, surveys, and interviews (both in the lab and field).
• Analyzing qualitative & quantitative data collected from a variety of research approaches.
• Evangelizing research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and presentations.
• Analyzing, interpreting and summarizing existing research reports.

Minimum qualifications:

• B.A./B.S. (minimum) or M.A/M.S./Ph.D. (preferred) in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior; or in lieu or degree, related work experience
• 3+ years preferred work experience in UX Research or similar - Wide experience conducting semi-structured interviews, diary studies, contextual field visits, usability studies either live or remote.
• Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
• Detail-oriented and ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
• Technical aptitude, familiarity with basic graphic and video editing tools preferred
