The opportunity

This opportunity will allow you to complete a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting via a full-time traineeship of up to 3 years’ duration. You will gain valuable hands-on experience, skills and support and have the potential to secure a long-term career with this industry leading host employer.

The role will see you learning from highly skilled engineering draftspersons to produce detailed drawings according to engineering designs and required Australian Standards. You will also use computer-aided design (CAD) software programs to produce models, drawings and schematics for medium to large scale infrastructure projects and components.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for applicants who are highly accurate, reliable and mathematically minded. You will have a genuine interest in pursuing a career as a successful draftsperson and be committed to completing all practical and theory based study requirements of a traineeship. You will have an aptitude for computers, demonstrate an excellent level of initiative, great problem-solving skills and be willing to go the extra mile to impress.

You will:

  • Have completed a minimum of Year 12 schooling, including a strong performance in mathematics.
  • Have reliable transport to and from work in Ingleburn on a full-time basis.
  • Have intermediate computer skills and be confident with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in completing tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Have professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to work independently, as well as contribute to a team.

Applicants who have previous experience using CAD software or have completed pre-vocational studies in the engineering industry will be very highly regarded.

They operate a state-of-the-art facility in Ingleburn and specialise in fabricating steel structures and components for medium to large projects for commercial, industrial and public infrastructure.
