About the role
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Principal Design Leader as the technical lead on all aspects of design and testing related activities, including:
- Provide technical support for all aspects of transmission and distribution design/testing to deliver a high level of technical design & advisory services related to both regulated and industrial electrical networks
- Development of internal analytical methods, including finite element analysis and standardised design functions
- Coordination of design/testing related projects and ensuring that project completion is on time, within budget and to the client's standards
- Liaison with internal & external stakeholders as well as key clients to maintain and enhance existing relationships
- Ensuring Quality Assurance procedures are followed in accordance with company and client standards
- Interpreting information and communicating effectively with clients and peers
- Working with subcontractors to ensure a high level of performance in terms of time and quality.

Skills and experience
We are looking for someone that is results-oriented and focused on delivering work and also understands how to align your work to business outcomes. An innovative thinker who excels in a team environment and displays a high level of attention to detail. You will be a qualified Engineer or equivalent with 7+ years relevant professional experience in the electricity industry and have extensive experience in design and testing which include:
- Strong technical knowledge of the power distribution/transmission networks, specifically in earthing systems, lightning protection, primary layout design, distribution secondary/primary testing, underground systems design, substations and overhead systems design
- Ability to hit the ground running with new and existing projects
- An in-depth understanding of relevant Australian standards such as but not limited to AS2067, AS7000 and AS3000
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work on simultaneous projects with competing timeframes
- Outstanding attention to detail and quality focused
- Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills
- May require occasional short-term interstate travel
