Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Lead Project Engineer is responsible for assisting and managing all engineering requirements, including procurement and logistical functions to ensure that successful construction and project outcomes are technically and pragmatically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements.

This is a full time role open for an immediate start based in our office located in Perth.  We offer a great work life balance and exposure to large National and International Operations.

Key responsibilities for this role include

• Oversee mechanical engineering design  for the materials handling on a major iron ore project. Including crushers, overland conveyors, stackers and reclaimers
• Review, approve or modify designs and check technical accuracy of work
• Coordinate activities of your team with other team units or organizations
• Build the capabilities needed to deliver on the team's short and long term goals
• Ensure proposal drawings incorporating the operational design variables
• Design and detail drawings for fabrication purposes
• Liaise with vendors to confirm technical details of sub suppliers' equipment
• Liaise with engineers, clients and other stakeholders
• Develop and maintenance of various "Standard" templates and procedures associated with the drafting function.

Skills & Experience

• Min 10 years experience in an engineering discipline
• Proven project management skills
• Exceptional report writing capabilities
• Outstanding leadership skills with a strong commercial acumen
• Able to work independently in a small team environment with large demands
• High attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
• Good understanding of Solidworks or 3D CAD and various other relevant design and drafting software
• Understanding of Australian Standards
• Professional registration with The Institute of Engineers Australia
• High level and effective communication skills
