GME designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes world-class radio communication equipment including; two-way radio communications, marine electronics, emergency locator beacons, telemetry and data radio products.

This is a rare opportunity for a senior engineer take on a lead role in the Engineering Department as the P25 Lead. The successful candidate will have the following skills & attributes to be successful:

In this role you will be required to do the following:

• Lead a team of technical staff to ensure delivery of projects on-time, within scope and within budget.
• Splits time between project leadership, technical tasks and supporting the team.
• Resolution of technical issues in coordination with project team.
• Assist with the development of business cases, scope, objectives and schedules.
• Coordinate and assist with the requirements capture process and development of specifications.
• Manage internal and external resources to achieve project goals.
• Manage changes to project scope, schedule and budget.
• Measure project performance and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
• Verification and validation of project deliverables as needed before release to market.
• Risk management and minimisation.
• Manages project communication and ensures the efficient flow of information between stakeholders.
• Trains and mentors team members.
• Work in partnership with other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Seek out industry best practice for continual professional development.

To be considered for this role you must:

• Significant experience leading and developing P25 professional radio products
• Bachelor degree qualified in Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years experience as a Senior Product Development Engineer or similar role(s).
• Experience with P25 Trunking
• Experience in the full product development lifecycle of consumer electronic products from concept to final production.
• Currently in a technical role
• Strong problem solving skills and needs to have a hands-on attitude with an ability to ‘get things done’.

• Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional collaborative teams in a technically challenging environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal English.
• A commitment to best practice, continuous improvement and customer focus.
