Our National Client in Production and Manufacturing is looking to secure the services of an Operations Manager for their facility in Brisbane, who would be responsible for the overall function of the operations team.

ROLE OBJECTIVE WOULD INCLUDE :
• Establish clear standards for the safe operation of all plant and equipment, in line with safety legislation and Company policies and practices.
• Ensure all employees are actively engaged in safety activities such as audits and hazard identification
• Conduct vigorous incident & injury investigation (including ICAM investigations) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions
• Deliver regular communication and feedback to direct reports and the broader operational team (eg: toolbox meetings)
• Lead efficient operation of equipment and maximize processing recovery, and ensure operating procedures and specifications are relevant and complied with
• Ensure customer DIFOT and quality expectations are met
• Institutionalize Lean manufacturing principles within the operational areas, and drive continuous improvement
• Deliver the annual operational and CAPEX budget
• Grow the business in line with Company Production Plan

ROLE DELIVERABLES WOULD INCLUDE :
• Safety and Sustainability: Review incident register and risk assessments, chair the HSE Committee meetings, provide regular reports to management, develop and implement return to work programs and implement corrective actions from hazard and near miss reporting within budget and in accordance with risk assessments and hierarchy of controls.
• Customer & Market Focus: Deliver on our promises – for suppliers, internal and external customers. Establish and maintain standards around DIFOT and quality.
• Improve Productivity: Deliver on budget outcomes, and support the Company Productivity Plan and activities.
• Optimize Return on Capital: Achievement of targets as per set KPI’s (Business Plan).
• Organisational Capability: Ensure that our greatest assets - Our People - are motivated and empowered to deliver their best. Prepare and conduct training/updates for all staff, ensure staff participates in and complete SAOs and safety reporting on time.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
• A tertiary qualification in a related discipline or significant industry experience.
• Significant operations, manufacturing, lean or distribution experience
• Knowledge and practical experience of Lean / Six Sigma is desired
