Due to the growth of our business and an expanded portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Associate Electrical Engineer to join our leadership team in Sydney, working on high profile projects with high impact to local communities.

As part of the Buildings team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to Electrical Engineering Design for Transportation related projects. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to developing the electrical services offering in our Transport Buildings team, including managing services of our business, supporting our clients and contributing to a profitable team.  

In this role you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Be jointly responsible for the overall performance of the transport buildings team and/or major project delivery, as part of the management team.
  • Be accountable for one or more areas of technology or discipline function on major infrastructure related projects ie electrical engineering.  Within this area you will deliver robust and appropriate design solutions.
  • Represent Arup at internal and external meetings, maximising the relationships developed with clients and upholding our values.
  • Managing the financial performance of specified tasks and/or projects. 
  • Development and implementation of longer term strategic plans within transportation and station services.
  • Within this role you may also be responsible for recruitment, appraisals, development, morale and motivation of staff. 

 

You will have demonstrated:

  • Chartered with the Institute of Engineers (Australia) – ie Australia, or Chartership with equivalent associations in other countries (to be achieved within an agreed timescale if not already in place).
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in electrical engineering consultancy and design in particular relating to transport related developments.
  • Substantial knowledge of the local marketplace, including critical issues and a sound client network.
  • Substantial experience in managing key projects, including the management of multi-disciplinary project teams.

 

With recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in design, project management and implementation in your field, within a consulting business environment.  

You will possess demonstrated excellent attention to detail along with high-level verbal and written communication skills.  Additionally, you will have proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. 

Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership will be highly regarded.
