Purpose:

Provide engineering support for the operation, maintenance, development and troubleshooting for the Ore Car Maintenance (OCM) Fixed Plant Control Systems.

• Method of control system fault recovery
  
• Method and design of control system improvement, subject to peer review
  
  Responsibilities:
  
  • Ensure conformance with the Company Charter, the Company Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
  
  • Participate with day-to-day plant and process breakdowns.
  
  • Engaging external contractors as part of control system maintenance and development.
  
  • NC, PLC, HMI, Application Logic and Database programming
  
  • Commissioning new plant and equipment.
  
  • Project management of small projects.
  
  • Assistance and input to condition monitoring, reliability and sustainability.
  
  • Gathering and collating information for investigations and inquiries.
  
  • Provide input and context to the Defect Elimination process
  
  • Proactively identify system improvements, impact assess and quantify cost vs benefit
  
  • After hours support (rostered).

  Qualification
  
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or other equivalent discipline
  
  Skills
  
  • Configuration and management of:
  
   Siemens Simatic S7 PLCs
  
   Siemens Sinumerik NCs
  
   Win CC HMIs, all variants
  
   Solving AGV system
  
   Sick safety devices
  
   Various other programmable/smart electronic devices
  
  • Software Development using the Microsoft .NET Framework
  
  • Development of Microsoft SQL Server databases
  
  • Basic understanding of machine componentry and subsystems including hydraulics, pneumatics, ultrasonics and precision machine design.
  
  Experience
  
  • Previous experience in a similar role with a minimum of 3 years.
