What are we looking for?

Due to consistent growth in our team and the demands of our strong and growing pipeline of work heavily involved in supporting a wide variety of civil engineering projects in Victoria, a Principal Flood Modeller position has become available. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing technology solutions and upgrades;
• Assisting the Project Manager in determining the drafting resources required for a project plan including elements suitable for outsourcing;
• Ensuring that the delivery of flood modelling tasks, including meeting budget, time-frame and quality targets, exceeding client expectations;
• Promoting and marketing all facets of our services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines, and contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan and building networks within the industry;
• Resolving technical flood modelling issues, carrying out technical reviews of hydrological and hydraulic models and providing technical input into design reports;
• Managing components of projects, taking responsibility for own resource and potentially resource allocation of others;
• Working in collaboration with other design disciplines, especially Civil, Structural and Environmental teams to ensure the integrity of the overall design; and
• Support in preparation of project proposals / bids / fee estimates.

Who are we looking for?

You will have:

• At least 10 years' relevant civil design experience focusing on flood modelling and drainage design working in Australia is required; 
• A Self-starter with confidence to meet and discuss project requirements with stakeholders and clients;
• Working knowledge of Australian design standards;
• Exposure to large infrastructure projects will be highly regarded;
• Experience using TUFLOW and Hec-Ras with a minimum 5 years of 2d Flood Modelling experience is essential;
• Experience in hydrological modelling using RORB or XP-RAFTS is essential;
• Demonstrated experience using XPSTORM and GIS products such as MapInfo, ArcGIS or QGIS will be highly regarded; 
• Experience in implementing new requirements of ARR2016 will be highly regarded; 
• Proven experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
