Balpara's electrical division specialises in project management, Engineering Design, Drafting and site management of substation, underground and overhead distribution and power industry related work.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a self-sufficient, experienced Senior Secondary Electrical Engineer to work on customer initiated projects. This is a great opportunity to work with a growing team and develop your career within the industry.
This role involves:
- Secondary electrical design of distribution and sub-transmission on major projects in accordance with Utility standards for various engineering projects
- Settings calculations for a range of projects
- Provide design and review of protection schemes from high level R&I diagrams, detailed schematics, through to protection settings
- Formulation of schematics, panel layouts, equipment selection, reports and drawings to support the delivery of projects
- Design reviews, detailed specifications, network studies, voltage calculations and relay configurations
- Maintaining expected current design standards as set by legislative requirements
- Carrying out quality checks and procedures
- Interpreting information and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Previous experience in electricity transmission and distribution projects required
- Proven design/design management experience in Transmission and Distribution Utility projects (Primary or Secondary Systems)
- A good background in Secondary Protection Design
- Have a good understanding of HV Power design
- Familiarity with Secondary System design and Power Systems software
- Preferably prior experience using AutoCAD and RESIS (highly desirable, but non-essential)
- Strong project development capabilities
