My client is seeking an experience Senior Highways Engineer/Design Manager to grow their civil infrastructure team in Melbourne to support existing roads projects and pursue the exciting opportunities ahead.

The role

Experienced Highways Engineer, with a track record of leading roads projects, including as Project Manager / Design Manager on Design and Construct projects and projects direct with government and private clients, preferably in Victoria.
 
Responsibilities include:

• team management
• design management
• technical professional development of staff
• project management and contracts administration
• appropriate business development and some high level design. 

About you:

We are looking for a people leader with experience. You must be able to coach in the cultural space as well as the technical space. Industry awareness and commercial awareness are critical. 
  
We would expect a degree in civil engineering with advanced understanding of VicRoads and AustroRoads standards and a minimum of eight years' service in the industry. Charteredship status would be highly desirable. 
  
You must be capable of producing tenders and associated documentation and you must have strong project management skills and you will have an expert background in roads and highways design.
