Civil Superintendent

New major road & bridge project | Seeking experienced Civil Superintendent to lead start of the project.

Our client is a national award winning civil contractor developing and delivering major transport and renewable energy infrastructure projects across Australia that employs more than 1500 dedicated staff. They are involved in multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects and are currently seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent with previous major road & bridge projects experience. Our client is an award-winning contractor who are about to commence on a new key project which runs 2021. The role reports directly to the to the General Superintendent and will be responsible for completing civil site management activities and will coordinate the Foremen / Supervisors ensuring their daily production targets are met. Project package valued at just under $900m.

This civil project has a significant earthwork, structures, drainage, services and roads focus and you will have proven experience working for a T1 or T2 civil focused contractor. Previous main roads experience is essential for this role to be successful. You should have a proven track record of on-time delivery and running a project to budget. Our client understands the importance of having a strong Superintendent who is a leader of people with high-level interpersonal skills and an ability to work with all stakeholders on a major project.

The successful applicant will display the following skills and attributes:

• 15+ years previous experience in civil infrastructure roles
• Ability to achieve consistently high standards within budget and schedule constraints
• Strong understanding and awareness of project implementation, constructability, OH&S, environmental and community issues
• Previous civil construction experience essential
• Previous major civil infrastructure project experience preferred
• Planning for all resources including plant, labour, materials and subcontractors
  Approve subcontractor workforce requirements and review work accomplished by each discipline
• Ensures the most current design document is provided to subcontractor to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation
• Review subcontractor time records using established automated tools
  Review and approve major subcontractor equipment mobilisation and demobilisation
• Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast
• Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules
