Project Aurora - BMW Base Fractionation Project
CSL Behring Australia is at the early stages in the development of a large, multi-million dollar base fractionation project which will transform our Broadmeadows site into a world leader in the manufacture of biopharmaceutical products. This will culminate in ensuring our site is a key partner in supplying patients globally.
We are in the design phase of this unique project and are recruiting a Project Engineer to join the project team and focus on MES / Systems. Please note this is a 4 year fixed term role.
The project will deliver an automated manufacturing facility that will be harmonised with other CSL Behring base fractionation facilities globally using a Siemens PCS 7 control system and Werum PAS-X MES. The project scope also includes a new warehouse, a new low temperature storage facility and new common utilities for the BMW site.
The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for the delivery of their scope of work from design through to operation;
- Be responsible for cost, schedule and quality adherence;
- Collaborate with other CSL sites globally to deliver harmonised MES and Automation infrastructure solutions;
- Take a leading role in the qualification activities for the MES and Automation infrastructure;
- Work collaboratively with many other members of the engineering project and operations teams;
Success will be measured on the ability to deliver your key activities for the project, ensuring this forms an integrated system which meets the end user and site’s needs.
We are looking for candidates with:
- A control systems/automation background;
- Manufacturing environment experience;
- Prior experience in supporting the design, implementation, FAT, commissioning and qualification of new facilities or large upgrade works;
- A strong ability to work alongside and in tandem with other project engineers on their specific projects and timelines.
Experience with some of the following will be necessary to be a successful applicant for this position:
- Developing MES solutions;
- Engineering for pharmaceutical production;
- Control system to MES, MES to ERP system (or other Layer 3) interface specification
The following are highly desirable and will be regarded favourably:
- Werum PAS-X software knowledge and expertise;
- Experience using MES in a pharmaceutical environment;
- Experience with plant historians (ideally Osi PI).
