Golder is looking for a CAD drafter, to be engaged on a casual or part time basis, to support the design services team in our Cairns office. This position will give you the opportunity to gain experience on a broad range of challenging projects and work with nationally and internationally recognised specialists in waste containment, geosynthetic material design, contaminated land, earthworks, and stormwater management.  

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Working under instruction to complete designs as required on a range of civil, geotechnical and infrastructure projects.
  
• Undertaking, under supervision, three-dimensional modelling on design projects.
  
• Performing scaling, dimensioning, or line locating in line with Australian Standards and established industry practices.
  
• Assisting in all phases of the production of drawings, including plotting, printing and collating.
  
• Preparing figures for reports and presentations.
  
• Completing work within standards of time, cost and quality. Working with other staff in the team to coordinate completion of deliverables.
  
• Following quality protocols - drawings and model files saved in line with Golder’s procedures.
  

Skills and Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Computer Aided Design or equivalent.
  
• Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and 3D application packages.
  
• Ability to interpret and carry out instructions applying new acquired knowledge.
  
• Ability to use basic theoretical knowledge of drafting principles to analyse and interpret information.
  
• Excellent attention to detail.
  
• Good organisational and time management skills.
