Design Engineer Position

A Signage company that design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of major signage and branding works requires an Engineering Technologist reporting to National Operations Manager. Applicants will be degree educated with at least 1-year experience in 3d design, new product development, quality control, lean systems in manufacturing as well as some stakeholder / project management exposure.
Liaising with the marketing teams, sales professionals and Project managers. you will offer engineering insights including market research, product range collaboration, expert analysis and 3D conceptual designs for their new and existing product range. You will prioritize and manage research & development, design and development activities. The position will see you liaising with external stakeholders / clients, both here and abroad, managing their expectations, developing new ideas and creating added value to each designated project.
To apply you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering and at least one year of experience in manufacturing industry
- Highly developed skills and work experience with SolidWorks specialised in sheet metal, weldments & drawing modules.
- Must have good knowledge of Australian drafting standard AS 1100
- A good proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, flexiSign or similar software is advantageous
- Good general computing skills and experience (MRP/ERP, Word Processing, Spread Sheet, etc)
- Knowledge and ability to apply Lean Sigma principles is preferred to assist production department
- The ability to read, interpret and create CAD data for manufacturing and associated work instructions
- Comfortable working with engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) and drawing revisions
- An individual that wants to progress their career into management would be a good fit
- Must be a Team Player and have excellent communication skills
- Proactive, enthusiastic, self-motivated and with a can-do attitude
- Confident working under pressure and to tight deadlines
