Industrial Engineer (Initial 12 month contract, $50 to $60 per - $110k)

Client & Engineer:

An engineering company that design medium sized commercial and industrial engineering equipment requires an Industrial Engineer for an initial 9 to 12-month contract but the position could go permanent or will be extended thereafter. 
 
An extremely diverse, yet challenging opportunity, we’d like to hear from Industrial Engineers that have experience preferably working within the fields of electromechanical, mechatronic, or electronic engineering (discrete components).   

You will be time served or degree educated with several years’ experience in the following; process improvement, material & inventory control, lean manufacturing, defining KPI’s in relation to supply chain focus, production routings, evaluating operational cost on the shop floor in relation to machined parts and maintenance as well as validating capital expenditure.  Working with a team of professional Engineers, Project Engineers, Directors, you will work from the office as well as walk the shop floor spending time with the professionals in the factory to help improve overall plant efficiency.
 

Daily, your role will involve:

• Working to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, person hours on the shop floor
• Improve manufacturing plant efficiency and improve the value of the product and business
• Identify, evaluate and recommend changes or improvements to material and inventory control, evaluating operational cost  
• Revise, amend and create new Production Routings, creating a more efficient list of tasks within the manufacturing process which will then lead to cost reduction
• Work with the Lean team to implement new systems making engineering manufacturing improvements
• Work with Quality control team, perform process audits, perform root cause analysis, create value stream maps centered around material flow
• Focus will be on discreet components, mechatronic parts, electronic parts  
• Develop costs comparisons of alternate processes, parts, tooling, implement cost reduction programs
