ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer this role will undertake a quality design, construction, testing, commissioning and training services associated with automation and control system (SCADA) for infrastructure projects
DUTIES
Engineering Studies - feasibility studies, investigations, audits (for Electrical, Control and SCADA system replacement, migration, upgrade and optimisation).
Engineering Design - Electrical, Control and SCADA system conceptual design, engineering design, detailed design, equipment selection and prepare technical specifications.
Specialist in the production and development of detailed electrical switchboard designs to RCR switchboard manufacturing facility - indoor and outdoor switchboards, control cubicle, disconnect cubicles, marshalling boxes.
Earthing design, studies, earth resistivity testing and reports.
Procurement - purchasing, tendering and administration
Project management services - planning, control, coordination, monitoring and reporting, asset management and documentation.
Substation Design - IFC, installation details, specifications.
Switchboard Design - IFC, SLD, protection, specifications.
Switchboard Manufacture Design - Detailed Workshop drawings.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent.
DESIRABLE
- Relevant experience in water related professional engineering experience with considerable experience in infrastructure planning, definition and/or detailed design of infrastructure assets.
- Sound and relevant knowledge of a Design Manager/ Project Engineer/Project Manager role, and in the preparation and review of technical reports and tender specifications for water industry infrastructure.
- Ability to analyse existing and/or proposed infrastructure assets to evaluate engineering and economic effectiveness and to present viable recommendations.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements, regulation and national standards associated with design, approval and development of water related infrastructure assets.
