KBR Australia has been engaged in working with Defence in Australia for over 20 years and has developed core competencies in systems engineering, systems and enterprise architecture, project management and integrated logistics support, to provide technical and management assistance to a wide range of Defence projects.
Our Government Services division is seeking a Junior Naval Architect to work on our Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) Capability Support Coordinator (CSC) project based at Garden Island, Sydney. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, show initiative, eager to learn and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with university degrees in Naval Architecture.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering assessments
- Conduct regular reviews of system design intent
- Monitor material condition of the systems and equipment
- Provide input into applicable systems analysis reports
- Deliver engineering solutions to solve equipment obsolescence problems
- Assist with reviewing engineering design tasks for replacement of marine equipment and conduct technical design reviews
- Collate and analyse data to determine the health of systems as defined by system boundaries
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Naval Architecture or a related discipline
- Minimum of 1 year in a similar or related field.
- Experience in the application of classification society rules and the naval technical regulatory framework within a naval environment preferred.
- An existing or previously held Australian Government Security Clearance is preferred.
- Must be an Australian citizen (mandatory)
