Recruitment Revolution is working exclusively with a leading multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm who have been in business for over 30 years and have offices all around Australia.

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer who will be permanently based in Newcastle with two to five years' experience in heavy industry, such as coal handling plants, process plants, mining applications and industrial machinery installations.

The full time role will involve the following key activities:

• Hands-on engineering investigations and structural assessments
• Structural analysis using SpaceGASS software
• Preparation of structural design reports and certifications
• Managing design budgets
• Preparation of proposals, tenders and estimates
• Technical support to other areas of the business

To be successful, you will possess the following:

• Degree qualification with 2 - 5 years' heavy industry experience
• Chartered membership of Engineers Australia (or eligibility)
• Design analysis experience
• Solid experience with design software such as SpaceGASS and Mathcad (Strand7 an advantage)
• Sound understanding of Australian structural codes
• Engineering investigation and report writing experience
• Experience in management of design budgets
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Current drivers licence

The following additional skills would be advantageous:

• Experience in consulting and/or material handling equipment environments
• Knowledge of the Newcastle and Hunter area advantageous
