About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Leader to join the General Projects team for a 3-6 month project (with the possibility of extension) to assist with the successful delivery of projects through all phases, from inception to completion. Monday to Friday roster working 8 hour days, overtime may be required depending on project requirements

 

The Position

As Electrical Project Leader you will be focused on achieving objectives through managing resources, budgets, changes, and risks. Projects may be capital projects, functional or cross-functional projects or related to broad business improvement initiatives.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement of projects in accordance with the approved plan and scope.
  • Safe delivery of projects by incorporation risk assessment processes in each project phase development.
  • Application of appropriate project governance and safety mitigation processes whilst delivering the projects through all phases.
  • Analyses project resourcing levels and seek approval to meet project scope, quality, budget and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with standardised project processes, systems and tools across projects.
  • Coordinates engagement and performance of project vendors as required.
  • Coordinates project resources to complete the assigned scope.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement.
  • Support the team day-to-day activities in team environment.

 

Education and Qualifications

  • Formal engineering qualification - Electrical / Instrumentation
  • Eligible for Membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
  • Eligible for Membership of the Project Management institute

 

Experience & Skills Required

  • Demonstrated experience and results in project management in a heavy industrial environment (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying HSE systems for projects both in design and during execution of a project (mandatory) 
  • Technical / functional knowledge of project management
  • Experience in managing single projects and complex budgets
  • Developing and maintain collaborative relationships within and across teams
  • Coaching and developing of construction supervisors.
  • Recruiting and selection
  • Aluminium refinery experience
