Senior Mechanical Engineer / Building Services Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join and lead our Building Services team. Based in our Fortitude Valley global head office, you will work with a range of professionals to produce high quality design outputs for a variety of Building Services projects covering the east coast of Australia and the Northern Territory. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager – Buildings & Infrastructure, you will manage and drive the direction of a small building services team in the delivery of projects ranging from schools, hospitals, commercial and other civic buildings.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:     

• Line management to a team of Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic Engineers, Designers and Drafters
• Commercial and financial management of the building services section
• New business development and management of existing client relationships
• Hands on management of design projects whilst working collaboratively with internal/external stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed to time and budget

You are a self-motivated character looking to impact and drive the business, having demonstrated the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• Preferably seven years' demonstrated experience working on a variety of building services related projects (ideally within the Brisbane market)
• Registered Professional Engineer status is considered essential
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity and in managing multi-disciplinary projects
• A client service focus with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in team environments
• Comprehensive understanding of various standards and applicable codes
• Strong knowledge of Vertical Transport and Fire (wet) Services would be highly advantageous
