We have an opportunity for a Site Supervisor to join our team.  Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be accountable for supervising and overseeing various site construction activities on a Rail Communications Upgrade Project whilst ensuring successful implementation of the project to the satisfaction of contract requirements.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:  
  • Electrical & communication works within Rail tunnels work including, installation of leaky feeder cable and associated hardware
  • Installation of communications hardware, cabling and antennas on train station platforms and communications equipment rooms;
  • Installation of Radio Base Stations Outdoor Units, Monopoles, cabling and antennae
  • Installation of Underground services and Earthing Systems
  • Submission of permits and associated documentation to commence onsite construction;
  • Risk assessment and traffic management development & review;
  • Ability to interpret specifications, design drawings civil / mechanical / electrical / communications; Supervise all site activities allocated to construction team members and sub-contractors ensuring regular workplace inspections are carried out and hazards identified are effectively controlled;
  • Ensure appropriate liaison with all contractors, sub-contractors and stakeholders on project;
  • Provide input in to the estimate of ‘costs of construction’ for allocated projects in terms of labour, materials and costs;
  • Planning of all construction activities in consultation with the Construction Manager;
  • Progress Reporting and daily site diaries
  • Quantify, control, receipt and issue of materials required for the timely completion of projects;
  • Provide leadership and support to teams ensuring that all relevant inductions & training is completed;
  • Control progress in accordance with the project program, and preparation of progress reports;
  • Monitor construction practices to ensure the quality of construction work is of a high standard.

To be successful you will:

  • Relevant Qualification, Trade Certificate, valid current Drivers Licence and associated tickets and licenses;DC power / RF/ Ethernet / Fibre Optic experience;
  • ACMA licences;
  • Working at Heights / Rigging experience / EWP’s / Confined space;
  • Previous experience in construction, heavy industry environment; Rail experience desirable;
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel;
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships both internally and externally;
  • Be comfortable working in a site-based environment;
  • Night Shift as required;
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and assist other team members with their tasks.
