Chandler Macleod are extremely excited to partner with a long-standing client within the transport sector to appoint a Signal Designer to join their Electrical team. Our client, a top-50 ASX-listed company and Australia’s largest rail freight operator are on the search for a qualified engineer to join their Brisbane branch for an initial 18month contract working 24hours per week.
What you can expect in your new role:
• Undertaking site inspections to determine design requirements
• Engage in the preparation of designs and plans to support the delivery of Signalling Projects
• Meet the requirements of the Quality Management System to provide consistent output of infrastructure design services and advice, ensure compliance with safety
• Respond to and communicate effectively with stakeholders, supervisors and peers through applying quality interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for business improvement, technology development and innovation to support and enhance the business.
What you will need to succeed:
• Tertiary/advanced Engineering diploma or equivalent Signalling qualification (Mandatory).
• 10+ Years of on the job design experience, preferably for signalling projects.
• High level of skill in design infrastructure.
• A strong understanding and adherence to Design Specifications and Standards.
• Highly experienced in the use of CADD systems and Drawing Management Systems.
• Good Time management, self-checking and personal ownership of design tasks, a must.
Mandatory Software experience:
• AutoCAD
• Microstation V8i onwards
• Meridian/Project wise or Similar DMS
