Where you will be working
 
Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (WWBH) is one of the busiest rural hospitals in NSW with 300 beds over 40,000 emergency presentations, 1,100 births and approximately 11,000 operations each year.  With the new hospital being built in 2016. WWBH provides medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, rehabilitation, and mental health acute and sub-acute inpatient services.  Specialties include cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal medicine, obstetrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry and paediatrics. There is also the provision of a full range of allied health and support services.

What you will be doing
 
The position of Senior Engineer will be responsible for the management of RMR budget, expenditure & reporting, Asset Opportunities, Energy, Management of all Engineering services (plant, equipment & buildings), Contractors & Contract management, Employment Conditions – Asset Management & Maintenance Systems, Minor Capital Works, Asset Strategic Plans, KPI’s, Site liaison for your delegated Health Services, ACHS, staff management & recruitment, Site Audits within the delegated Work Centres.
 
Selection Criteria
 
  • A Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is essential (or such other tertiary qualifications which are considered appropriate by the Manager Asset & Clinical Technology, in the development of team technical managerial expertise).
  • At least 3 years successful experience in the management and supervision of trade and technical staff.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in the Engineering field, knowledge of plant performance and maintenance strategies with particular emphasis on the development of Preventative Maintenance programs & routine and emergency works planning to meet tight deadlines.
