We’re searching for a Systems Engineer (12 Month Fixed Term Contract) to provide strong knowledge to Foxtel on a range of Windows systems and applications. The purpose of the role is to determine, recommend, and ensure that the Corporate infrastructure is operating at its best in accordance with the Commercial and Customer satisfaction SLA’s.

Your purpose

• To assist in the long-term planning and strategy of Foxtel’s technical direction including aiding in the documenting of detailed architecture models that describe the structure and function of the Corporate Infrastructure platforms.
• Analyze technology and market trends to incorporate in the long term strategy.
• Proactively seek out barriers, risks and issues with existing systems and processes then recommend the solution and strategy that will get the best outcome.
• Develop, maintain and communicate high-level plans for investing in infrastructure environment, including identification and management of cost management and reduction opportunities.
• Define, design and promote development of functional infrastructure solutions, standards and processes.
• Emphasis on innovation, teamwork, analysing business requirements, aligning the design activities and provide the required solutions for implementation.
• With architectural and project delivery responsibilities, you will ensure success of systems implementation projects with Foxtel’s Corporate Infrastructure platforms.

Your capability

• A comprehensive knowledge of various operating systems including: Windows 2008/2012/2016, Windows 7/10.
• You will have strong skills (either on premise or via O365) with one or more of the following Microsoft products:
• Exchange
• SharePoint
• Skype
• SCCM 2012
• You are able to manage VMware virtualisation technologies (vCenter, vSphere 5-6 and ESX 5-6)
• You manage common Internet systems (DNS, AD, SSH,SSL,HTTP,HTML)
• Experience with backup products like (BackupExec, Veeam etc)
• Scripting skills are a bonus (PowerShell, VB etc)
• You can see the bigger picture and have experience working with colleagues to design and implement technical projects to completion.
• Flexibility within a constant change environment which includes adapting to new technologies
• Demonstrable knowledge of networks and system security.
• Strong communication & relationship management skills to assist you with customers, vendors and business managers across the business.
• Flexibility to provide after-hours support for our production environment when required.
