Due to business expansion, there is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Draftsperson to join the RME Engineering department on a full-time, permanent basis.
Having demonstrated experience in modelling and drafting within a 3D software environment, the Mechanical Draftsperson is responsible for the creation of detailed drawings suitable for production of high-quality mining equipment.
Duties of the Mechanical Draftsperson include, but are not limited to:
- Produce preliminary designs and detailed drawings of mining equipment elements using 3D modelling software
- Complete drafting and small design tasks within defined time periods
- Checking and quality assurance of engineering drawings for parts and assemblies to relevant standards
- Communication of required changes to drawings following checking and quality assurance
- Function effectively in a team-based environment, both within Engineering and when liaising with other areas of RME
- Supervision, training and mentoring of less experienced draftspersons and other staff as directed
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
REQUIRED
- Demonstrated experience in 3D modelling and detailed drafting of fabrication drawings
- Demonstrated commitment to quality engineering
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
DESIRABLE
- Trade experience in a related industry
- Demonstrably strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of material sciences
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic principles and design
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to manage a small team to accomplish project goals
LICENCES
- Possession of a current QLD ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence (required)
