SENIOR ENGINEER – CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Construction Services team working on key infrastructure projects for the region, while enjoying the benefits offered by the tropical north Queensland lifestyle.

The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Construction Services team based in our Townsville office with regular travel to site offices.

With a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in civil engineering, your duties will include:

• Providing construction knowledge and experience to develop cost-effective solutions
• Managing project outcomes and client expectations
• Providing technical and commercial competence to the delivery of projects
• Monitoring compliance with contractual and technical requirements, including issuing directions to the Contractor, valuing progress of work completed and recommending payments, monitoring, recording and reporting on progress, quality, safety, time and cost

The successful candidate will report to the State Sector Manager and be responsible for the successful management and delivery of project scope, as well as form part of the leadership of the local team.

The Ideal Candidate

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience across a variety of civil construction and transport infrastructure projects and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win work.  Candidates may have the following experience or capabilities:

• Bachelor Degree (Engineering) or equivalent
• Competently provide key technical expertise across a broad range of projects
• Ideally have RPEQ
• Ideally have TMR Contract Administration and/or Construction Management experience & TMR pre-qualification
• Superintendent/ Superintendent’s Representative experience desirable
• Sound knowledge and experience with verification of construction activities and documenting progress through clear and concise reporting
• Deliver best client outcomes that have provided cost savings
• Well-developed communication, analytical and negotiation skills
• Effectively lead small teams and contribute to building the technical capability of others
• Undertake technical tasks with a high degree of independence across a broad range of small to medium profile projects
